A native of Opelika, Jon Williams has been captivated by music since he was a young boy. He received his first guitar at age 7 and began to play seriously at age 12. Being a completely self taught musician, his songwriting journey began in a local church during his teenage years where he wrote and performed a few spiritual songs. As a young adult, he started writing songs inspired by his own heartaches and life experiences. Over the past few years, he began to perform consistently in downtown Opelika at the Jailhouse’s Open Mic at Rock ‘N Roll Pinball. During this time, he began to record his songs with a few local musicians. In January 2023, he released his first album “Sidetracked” with Might As Well Records, which features 7 songs written in the Americana/Folk genre with a strong acoustic foundation and catchy, heartfelt lyrics. He has since released a few singles such as “Willow” and “Are You Listening”. His music has been described as “Deep, where the lyrics will draw you in and pull at your heart.”
