Dave Potts
Dave Potts is an acoustic songwriter with a poet’s eye for detail, crafting melodic, story-driven songs that illuminate the quiet truths of everyday life. With a warm, flannel-smooth voice and an easy, humorous stage presence, Potts built his reputation through relentless touring and deeply personal songwriting rooted in small, meaningful moments.
After performing in more than 2,000 venues across 43 states, Potts eventually settled in Auburn, Alabama, where his work began reflecting the rhythms and understated beauty of small-town life. His songwriting earned national recognition, including first place in the International Acoustic Music Awards (Folk/Americana/Roots), multiple Kerrville New Folk Finalist honors, and New Folk Song of the Year from Just Plain Folks.
Following a hiatus from touring to raise a family, Potts returns to music with renewed perspective and depth. His songs balance reflection and melody with lived experience—music shaped by time, humility, and a steady belief in the power of a well-told story.
